The ground rules for using this site and relying on the information it provides.
These Terms of Use govern your use of ncpsa.org and the NCPSA Member Portal (together, the "Site"), which are operated by the National Council for Private School Accreditation ("NCPSA," "we," "us," or "our"), a Washington nonprofit corporation. By using the Site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
NCPSA recognizes and provides oversight of private school accrediting associations. It doesn't accredit individual schools. A school's accreditation is granted by the member association that reviewed it, and questions about a particular school's accreditation should go to that association. The Site exists to explain NCPSA's role, to identify the accrediting bodies NCPSA recognizes, and to give government agencies, accrediting bodies, schools, and families a way to reach us.
The list of member organizations on this Site and the directory of accredited schools are provided for general information. Membership status, candidacy, and a school's accreditation can change, and there may be a delay between a change and its appearance online. For that reason:
You may use the Site for lawful purposes connected to its stated aims. You agree not to:
The content of the Site, including text, design, photographs, video, the NCPSA name and logo, the NCPSA Gold Seal, and NCPSA publications such as the Accreditation Manual and Standards Manual, belongs to NCPSA or is used under license. You may view, download, and print material from the Site for your own noncommercial, informational use, provided you keep all copyright and other notices intact and don't alter the material. Any other use requires our written permission.
The names and logos of member associations, candidate organizations, and preferred partners belong to their respective owners and appear on the Site to identify them. Their appearance doesn't grant you any right to use them.
The Member Portal is available only to authorized representatives of NCPSA member associations and candidate organizations. If you have a portal account, you're responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for everything done under your account. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been used without your permission. Use of the portal is also subject to NCPSA's membership requirements and reporting policies.
The Site links to websites and services operated by others, including member associations, preferred partners, our event registration and hotel booking providers, and our form provider. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, their availability, or their treatment of your information. A link doesn't mean NCPSA endorses the linked site.
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, NCPSA disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NCPSA and its officers, directors, commissioners, employees, volunteers, and member associations won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, business, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so some of them may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NCPSA and the people and organizations listed above from any claim, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that arises from your violation of these terms or your misuse of the Site.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or from your use of the Site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
We may revise these terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with its effective date. Your continued use of the Site after a revision means you accept the revised terms.
